Delayed Reactions?

Hey guys. Ufortunatley i got the job of being pain victim a few days ago. and was kicked where it hurts. But i realised (after i recovered)..that it took 2-3 seconds for me to feel the pain. Yet when i nip myself, or kick myself, i can feel the pain almost instantaniosley..
How is this? Or is it just my nervous system. LoL

I agree! Shock and adrenalin depending on the situation, usually does delay the pain a moment or so..

I would think there are a number of factors.
Certainly, adrenalin can suppress pain.
Also, when you pinch yourself, you can anticipate the pain - I doubt you were expecting to be "kicked where it hurts", so you did not anticipate the pain but merely reacted to it.
Finally, even the pain nerves themselves may possibly become overloaded (I think this may be part of what acupuncture achieves), and it may be that your nerves were overloaded immediately after getting "kicked where it hurts".
