The two main reasons it hurts is swelling and bruising. try googling for "charley horse"

Ah..well Nic atleast you probably ain't 3 food in the air adnd have someone hit you between your gluts and knee cap and fall back down to the ground unable to catch yourself. And thanks will do Paul

Thanks Paul.  I had no idea that it could be that serious. 

Nic takes a lot of direct hits and kicks to the legs in karate.  He's just getting over an injury that caused him so much pain he had to use a cane to walk.  I thought that he pulled a muscle, but with the amount of stretching and warm ups he does that's probably not likely.  I suppose it could've been a charley horse.

Does he have a heart condition which might be causing the normal flow of blood
around his body, if he is not sure then go to your family doctor to be checked
over. Or an injury that might be surfacing from his past.
