Dearest Deep Sea Animalologists,
See these Deep Sea Creatures ?
[ Invalid Attachment ]
Nice eh ?....a pretty looking bunch aren't they ? (actually,...
why are deep sea creatures so grotesque-ish !?
)
With an exception to the pressure...
if we could duplicate their living environment at sea level......would they live ?...or would they go......
'POP'
?
As a sheep I can't dive very deep, my wool is too buoyant....so, until my submersible arrives can you answer my many fathomed orientated question ?

I wonder if it is because of the lack of light? Possibly but they all look very much like predators and vicious looking!
Thats a good question but I think you would have to duplicate the pressure also, I would think.. I would think like a diver they would have to be acclimated back slowly but There bodies may not function properly in the other water without the pressure they are acclimated to.I don't think they would pop but I do think they would die as I don't think their insides lungs and organs would be able to deal with it. Only a guess though!

I think the change of pressure does them in, as they come to the surface the gasses in their body would expand and explode.

Maybe they get the
straights
if you bring them up to quickly.
I rememeber when I was in Madeira that the fish market had some big black fish that were caught at about 6,000 feet. They are alive when they come out of the water and are dangerous. If you accidentaly caught one, the advice was to cut your line and don't go near it.
Yum.
The are called Black Scabbard Fish.

THANK EWE ALL
Paul, Karen, Turnipsock
for your answers.
Ok...assuming then that they were brought to the surface in a controlled fashion AND their environment was echoed.....then (without the pressure) would they survive ?
Turnipsock
......that's fascinating about the Black Scabbard Fish...I wonder how long they would live if not taken to market !
