Happy Valentines Early here is a Heart felt question for you to ponder... Something Lufferly for

Valentines day! [:)] [;)]

Well I was wondering if their was some endearing quality that gained them that title of reference?

What do you think.. are they extra cuddly?? Maybe more sexually active..? Exactly why do we call them

Love

birds?

Agapornis roseicollis - peach-faced lovebirds
Agapornis personata - masked lovebirds

Some birds (rock doves for example) a forever in love with their 1st love. If their partner dies, the other will forever mourn and never pair up again.

I'm pretty sure there are many birds that are monogamous. Some mammals as well.. there's a firing in the back of my feeble mind right now that is recalling something about road kill of entire mammalian families because of mourning and staying with dead loved ones.

Sweet and scary at the same time.
