I just lost an arguement with a Mynah bird !!, not only was I suitably impressed with it's debating skills but also it's rhetoric and diction !

How do they talk ?...do they have vocal cords or is it a noise they make that sounds like speech ?...same goes for parrots too eh ?

Parrots, Mynahs and Crows have the largest brains of any birds. Parrots and mynahs are clever enough to mimic any sound not just voices. They can do this because of the shape of their beaks and by manipulating the tongue inside.  They can also think about what they are saying and do not just come out with some random utterence.

I used to have one that would pick up coins and fly off with them. My criminal dream was to get a gang of them and show them "The Italian Job" repeatedly until they got the message and started plotting their own heist.

Yayy !!!..Magpies are renowned for collecting shiny things too aren't they ?..perhaps the parrots etc can explain the heist situation in 'birdy speak' to the Magpies and bring your plan to fruition eh ? and thanks for your answer Corbeille....I asked you a computer related question as per your request (in another thread)...Oh..POO !!!..can't remember which thread it was .....doh !!

Where my grandmother lived there was a Magpie that made all sorts of cool noises. It would ring like a phone, bark like a dog and lots of other cool things.

Unfortunately some sorry bastard didn't see how wonderful this was and shot the poor thing which probably had more brains than the shooter.
