Please help me (prenatal pills)...
«

I have a VERY important question about prenatal pills. I looked and looked for an answer, but I couldn't procure a good enough one. My parents are practically forcing my sister to take prenatal pills. My sister is only 14, and my parents' logic behind their misguided choices is that she "isn't tall enough". I'm so angry right now. I can't do anything because they're so far away and I'm at college.
What sort of long-term and short-term effects do prenatal pills bear on a girl of that demographic who isn't even pregnant? What advice would you give to curb my parents' idiocy?
please help...

Fuxxor...I can only speculate that your parents think your sister is either malnourished or very small for her age (or something like that).....seems they think the prenatal pills will be good for her. I did find this site for you
http://www.co.mohave.az.us/WIC/Prenatals.htm
I don't know if you came across it already but also hope that you find the answer here......I'm sure the medical people here will be in a position to advise you better than I....but it seems to me, prenatal pills are a source of extra vitamins that the body benefits (and the foetus also) during pregnancy.
I wish you luck but in my limited ability, please try not to worry too much !!(almost an impossible task eh ?)

Thanks Neilep, but I already came across that site. It basically states why pregnant women need them, but I'm worried because she's just a 14 year old. Does it matter? Maybe she's small for her age, but isn't that just hereditary? I'm small!
thanks though. Anymore help?

I assume you mean prenatal vitamins. No harm at all, although it won't make her grow any taller. I read some studies about the excess iron being bad for the heart if you're a menopausal woman, but nothing in it should hurt her at her age -- and she'll grow beautiful fingernails.

However, all that iron will, um, "plug her up". Better get some laxatives along with it.
Talk to your sister. She might be able to refuse the treatment or side-step it.
Good luck,
Ronnie

Grazi friends, I'll talk to her. I just don't think prenatal pills should replace the conventional vitamin. What's wrong with extreme parents these days
