Dearest Bluebellologists,

D'ya like my Blue Bell Forest ?

 [ Invalid Attachment ]

It's being delivered next Tuesday.

About a month ago, I heard on the radio that there were a bunch of sitings in the UK of Bluebells already flowering. This was cause for some concern apparently because 50% of the worlds Bluebells are in the UK !!

Why's that then.....

This is the UK
[diagram=323_0]

QUALITY DRAWING !! [;D]

...and this is the rest of the world !!

[diagram=324_0]

Good job I managed to source these excellent drawings on the net !!!..

As ewe can see...the country and sea stuff is a lot bigger than the the UK......so

How come the UK has 50% of the worlds Blubells ?

*le sigh*

If there's some glitch in the bluebells' response to our odd weather that means they flower early and get knocked back by bad weather then 50% of the world's bluebells will be in trouble. (not much IIRC they are perennial)
I guess there are a lot of them here because we Brits, as a nation, tend to like woodland and so do the bluebells.

Another question is why are so many of them Spanish?

We have tons of them here next to me in the woods... They were my favorite place to be as a child it was a area filled with trillium and bluebells... where some filtered light shined through the trees in amongst the redwoods oaks and pepperwoods that were mixed with pine and fir as well.... and not to forget the waterfall. I think our weather is pretty damp here in Humboldt.. lots of rain and fog.. nice temps overall.. not to hot or too cold.... I think we are comparable to you in england for winter rains etc... and we boarder the ocean also!

Flowers - Phah!

THIS is what a blue bell looks like - and it lives up to it's motto, inscribed on the photo.

Neither is it blue, nor is it a bell.

It was awesome.. I don't even know these days if its still blooming.. they cut down all the redwoods and let scrub oak pines and a couple pepperwoods. I have not been down there for a long time.. I know the waterfall is still there as my kids have been down there, and I worry that the flowers have been destroyed with the logging they did... Someday I hope to be able to get down in there again,, It is a trek I cannot make at this point with out a bush man cutting a path .. It has really grown up!

Chauffer indeedy.. LOL.. He will have to be a pretty rugged guy! LOL!!! Well its very close to me less then a block in measurement maybe two.. but it requires hiking down over the embankment and cutting a path through the briars that have taken over and hiking through the woods to the fall which is very close...!.. Just  a trek for me lately.. LOL.. I will go down sometime.. As it is a special place for me.
