Uh-uh, no way. I'm gradually swapping all my kit to Linux.

It was originally for Intel processor machines - but for stability and price it cannot be beaten. I don't think it has ever been ported for Mac's as the Mac OS and architecture is essential "Unix-lite" anyway.

Linus is always free - that is the only way it can be tinkered with (essentially any modification of the kernel.) According to the GNU public license ALL versions must have be freely available on the web. There is nothing in the license that says it must be on a fast server or have adequate bandwidth to handle down-load demand. These versions die rather quickly because the Linux community will not support them - PERIOD. These versions become pariahs very, very quickly. See www.linux.org
