If you touch a slug.. I'm warning you not to though.. I haven't touched one since about 4 years ago!!

Well if you decide to touch one.. Whatever you do, I couldn't get the slime off my fingers!! Soap wouldn't work.. Nor would just rubbing it, or washing it.. Or whatever!!! I even started scraping my finger on a brick wall to get rid of the slimey feeling!! IT was all slippery! I don't even remember how I got it off in the end.

What makes it so slimy?? And is this so that predators don't eat them>?

(And no.. I'm not obsessed with snails and slugs  [])

Dear secret snail and slug luffer !!

Slugs are all gooey cos they double up as emergency glue sticks !!

They are great for re-applying the stickyness to envelopes !!

LOL...*chortle guffaw*......well....nope !!...and I wouldn't want to....thankfully self seal envelopes rule the day !

...however, slugs can also be used to seal the inside of cracked 'slug sized ' pipes !!.....oh......and they also luff being chucked next door too !!

I have indeed.....though I just prodded it with the tip of my finger !!

I agree that slugs are a pest and a slimy horrible one at that.

Nor would I ever dare to or have the courage to touch somethng so slimey.

The slimy slime is lubrication for sliding along.... I think it may also be a defence mechanism also....
to ward off things.. trying to touch them or hurt them....
thy are not so bad.... they dont bite... try some nail polish remover to remove the slime from your hand, ut desolve it works ok too.
