What Are The Phases Of A Body Clock ?
« on: 30/04/2008 02:09:01 »
Dear Body-Clockologists,

See this body clock ?

 [ Invalid Attachment ]

Nice eh ?.....seems robust and accurate !

Mine isn't.....I'm still awake at 2am (Wed).....in fact...I've been awake since 8am not yesterday but the day before (Mon)!.*le sigh*....I guess ewe could say my body clock is rather askew !

So, for many many many times I have experienced the full gamut of (so called) body clock events through a 24 hour period !......can't say I've ever noticed anything untoward or extraordinarily different happening to me (well.....state of mind YES  [;D])

So, my question is....what are the stages, physiological and emotional of a persons body clock ?

Ewe see...I just don't know........I want to know......let me know so that I can recognise them !

Tar

1 AM, 2 AM, etc.

Seriously --

my circadian rhythm is about 36 hours if left to its own devices. Most people have a 24 hour clock. There is about 5% of the population, of which I am part, that has a circadian rhythm out of phase with the rest of the world. The time of each person in that 5% varies but I am about average. It has been a problem all of my life and one of the reasons I became a consultant, working for myself within the framework of a larger firm. Now, I am trying to do some serious business (BIG bucks) and am again trying to fit the time constraints of the rest of the world and it is not a pleasant experience.

Should you require an assistant available at unusual hours then do please let me know. I've been looking for a way to make my insomnia pay all my life !

Can you do anything useful, besides being sheared once a year?

One of my many diagnoses over the years was Phased Delay Syndrome...in that , like your good self, my body clock was deemed completely out of tune with a 24 hour cycle. A six month course of Melatonin did not help. The so called sleep-specialist then dismissed me !!

Still, perhaps whilst ewe consider my job application a passing ' body clock' specialist will pop in and relay all the stages.
