Can anyone figure out the relevance of this number?
« on: 09/05/2008 01:42:21 »
The number is 0.772453851 (to nine decimal places)

It's a mathmatical constant that you won't simply find via Google.

A round of applause to the first person to work out it's derivation and how it can be used:)

NeilP was close but Pumblechook got it:)  <round of applause>

You can use it to get the side of a square having equal area to a circle of radius r by

 r + rk

where k = 0.772453851

How do I type an upside-down '6M'?

or...

Is this the question to that answer? ...and please don't call me 9W.
