Casella are (probibly) the leading names in met. instruments, but obviously they are quite pricey. You can quite often find good bargains on Ebay.Is that the kind of info you are after?
Andrew,In those 21 years did you manage to take a photograp of those "unusual clouds that vist" you?Just back off holliday, will get round to the rest later.
Glider pilots enjoy the thermals from these areas but I don't know the answer. I think in big cities the temperature is always slightly higher especially on hot days but just one carpark in the middle of the countryside wouldn't do much.
