Has anybody read Nicholas Harberd's
Seed to Seed
?
He's a plant growth specialist at the John Innes Centre and takes you through a plant's (Thale cress) life, explaining the steps with the genes, transposons, gibberellic acid etc., and yet does it in its natural setting of a Norfolk churchyard in a charming way so you get the science as well as the aesthetic side. A delightful read.
