Mirrored body language is apparent in lots of animals, especially those in herds or in communities such as cats and rabbits. I guess if they can yawn that this would also be a mirrored action. Cats yawn and squint their eyes to show other cats that they are not a threat and will not fight. So your cute little moggy will join in a yawning orgy if she is with a bunch of cats that just want to be friends.
