What are these worms in my sandpit?

What are these worms in my sandpit?

Hiya, i left our sandpit without it's cover on and the rain got in it. today i was looking and there appears to be these wriggly small worm type things, their heads are dark and the tails are whitish what the hell are they???

can you help??

    Could you give us a little more information to go on? Or, better yet, a picture?

    How long are they? Are they segmented? Where do you live (generally)? Do they have any other features, like pincers on the front or anything (could help differentiate between a grub or larvae and actual worm)?
