Some good stuff in that list. But let's remember that we are scientifically minded people and it's our duty to question things now and then (not pick faults [;)]) and not just accept what we are told.

I thought assasination derives from an ancient midle eastern sect "Hashashins" who smoked a bit and like to kill. I could be wrong?

I'm with you Neil. The urban myth about daddy long leg spiders is just that. No-one has been able to milk one for their venom, it's just an assumption based on the fact that these spiders eat red back (black widow) spiders for lunch, therefore must have stronger venom than a red back. Also, the left handed polar bit sounds a bit dodgy. How is that checked?
And Ultima, I also thought North and South America were different continents.

There's a show on cable television here in the US called Mythbusters.  The guys who are on it are engineers / special effects professionals who test urban legends for feasibility.  They did a show where they tested the daddy-long-legs myth and found it to be false.  They also found that the myth about its mandibles being too small to bite humans also false.  How did they test it?  One of the guys stuck his hands into a container filled with them and pulled it out, covered with spider bites.  He had no problems and the myth was busted.  I highly recommend this program, it's insightful and funny as hell.

Yeah I like that program. Also I can agree with the fact theat the daddy long legs thing is false because if a tiny midget or something can bite you then I would have thought a daddy long legs could too.

It's not just Sumo wrestlers. Most advanced practitioners of Oriental martial arts can do it. It's not actually that difficult.

As for the daddy long legs thing, i was alway under the understanding it was because the spider didn't produce enough of the venom to kill a human, if you look at body size the size of a red back is tiny to that of a human so it would take less vemon to kill, if a daddy long legs can only produce that small an amount isn't it still possible that it's venom is more poisonous?

That didnt make sense. If the venum is poisoness enough then it wont need much at all to kill a human

OK, but here is really useless information:

An egg cooked for five minutes, at 14,000 feet above sea level, is still slightly underdone.

More useless information: in an ordinary pencil there is enough graphite to draw a line that is 48 kilometers long i.e. 45 000 words.

there are two types of "daddy Long legs" which also might add to the confusion of the information.
