I love it. In an early Star Trek TNG episode they find Data's brother Lore. Lore is really bad, older than Data and uses contractions but is otherwise identical. In the final fight scene Data beams Lore off the ship into space (apparently between the hull and shields as the shields are up) after the fight Riker asks Data if he's OK Data says "I'm Fine" I saw this and thought "oh crap" but no one noticed and the episode ended.

Don't you think there would be safety devises that would prevent beaming anyone outside the ship into space? I see a lot of things happen in sci-fi that could easily be avoided with safety precautions. Often you see a person ejected into space by opening an airlock. In the space shuttle the door outside opens in which prevents it being opened if the airlock is pressurized.
