I don't get intoxicated. Mr Doctor-type-person made me give up alcohol (as near as makes no difference) ages ago. I have the occasional glass of red wine and that's all.

I'm on Warfarin for pulmonary embolli. Its level in my blood has to be carefully monitored weekly and the dosage altered accordingly. Too little and the clots can do naughty things, too much and I could bleed profusely. Alcohol makes the level go haywire.
