I have been with my partner for 4 years, we have sex about 3 times a week, as far as i am aware he doesn't masturbate but in the last week he has had 3 wet dreams, he said he cant remember the last time it happened it was when he first started puberty, he is now 22 any ideas what may be causing this?

You had sex three times in a week and he had three wet dreams in a week? Does that mean he ejaculated on six days out of seven?

The causes of it aren't exactly known, speaking from my personal experience it tends to be more likely to happen if I haven't ejaculated by other means for a day or so. However, no link between ejaculation frequency and "nocturnal emission" frequency have been verified.
To be realistic, he probably does masturbate, don't hold this against him as it has nothing to do with you or how satisfying you are, its just what needs to be done from a mans point of view. Women aren't always in the mood and we don't want to harrass you into anything, or sometimes the urge comes when you're not around, so masturbation is the answer.
Maybe for one reason or another he hasn't been masturbating recently and this has caused him to have wet dreams instead. Of course that is my completely unqualified theory going off only my own experiences.

the first time it happened was between Christmas and new year and then it happened last Thursday and again on Saturday, and in between times had sex (not to say it was exactly 3 times though) we have been living together for the last 3 years and i have never known it to happen, i was actually thinking it may be down to him not masturbating, as we both had 2 weeks off over the Christmas period and we were practically together all the time so he wouldn't have been able to do it. we have been really distant since it started, i know wet dreams are normal but i cant help thinking its something to do with me.

I'm sure neither masturbating or having wet dreams has anything to do with how he feels about you or how sexually satisfying you are or anything like that. I've been in your boyfriends situation before myself, and I did not want to admit to my girlfriend at the time that I masturbate out of fear she would think it is something to do with her, like you are now. Again its just something males do, we seem to have stronger urges than females (generally) which calls for more frequent "pipe cleaning" than you can or would want to satisfy. I reckon the only fuss there should be about this is who's going to change the sheets!

I guess you could communicate that you don't care if he masturbates and you understand why he would have told you he doesn't and you're not upset?
