Reading this out at my Father's Funeral will stay with me until I die

To our One and only Father
No better can be found nor had
Put us on the straight and narrow
And that can’t be all that bad
He taught us how to Tat n’ fish
And put some dinner on we dish
He learned us to give and take
And how to fend and money make
A canny man who doesn’t bend
Who’s spirit’s hard can never brake
His words are just and so profound
His manner humble in quiet thought
And a hardened boxer from the ring
Who swiftly educated those he fought
A funny comic who joked in song
He shined the leather on the ball
And bruised a willow bat you know it
But most of all accomplished much

The looking glass..

I saw my face just yesterday reflecting in the glass,
and many many memories came flooding from the past!
I stood in awe at all I had done, and where my life had come,
I also saw so many times when I turned my back and run.

The reflections I see in this small glass,
hold the memories from my past.
The joy, the sadness, the love, the fear,
all come together in what I see in this mirror.

I can't change the actions that got me here,
and I can't fix the hurt that stems from the fear.
I can only move on in hopes that one year,
I will be able to overcome the fear.

Painful reflections that I see in this glass
reflecting so much of my life from my past.Try as I may to put
it behind , it is etched ever so deeply inside of my mind,
echoing the soul that all of you find.

Looking glass, Looking glass, reflection of me,
maybe today a future we'll see, and maybe tomorrow is but a dream,
but maybe this time you'll reflect my dreams........

A JOYOUS HEART

IN this world of KILLING and HURTING and HATE,
WAVES of MISFORTUNE SADNESS and PAIN.

I STAND here TODAY in AWE of it ALL, and STILL in
MY HEART it's the LOVES I recall.

The sadness the pain, yes it's all here,
but what I FEEL most is the LOSS that I FEAR.

AFRAID to MOVE on, WITHOUT those I LOVE,
AFRAID to STEP forward to FACE what WILL come.

Saying GOODBYE and WALKING away..
and DOING MY best to SEE a NEW DAY.

KEEPING the FAITH I have FOUND to be HARD,
NOT my best STRENGTH with the turn of the CARDS.

GRATEFUL for FRIENDS and LOVES in my LIFE...
for SUNSHINE and STARS and the MOON in the SKY.

For SMILES I SEE from the EYES I've been GIVEN,
LAUGHTER I HEAR in my EARS, SOUNDS like HEAVEN.

A small CHILD'S HAND held tight INSIDE MINE,
The SMELL of a NEWBORN, LIFE is SUBLIME!

All the grief and the sorrow the pain and despair...
All I WILL REMEMBER is the LOVE that I've shared.

In HOPE that some SMALL thing IN HERE I have LEFT,
will, Be of SOME meaning and NOT go ADRIFT!

For ALL WHOM I LOVE and have found RIGHT here,
THANKS for PUTTING UP with ME, for the last couple YEARS!

SLEEPLESS nights, WELL I've had a FEW,
But ALL, worth the JOY I've HAD, SPENT, sharing with YOU!

YOU NEVER know what LIFE has for YOU..
You just PLOD ON and DO the BEST YOU CAN DO!

For ALL of YOU MY LUFFLY Friends..I GIVE my HEART AWAY!
I LOVE YOU ALL, with all my HEART so That's ALL I have to SAY!

LOVE WELL AND LIVE LONG,
