I wouldn't know where to begin...Thanks for the nice compliment.. maybe someone will do something with them when I am gone... My kids hate my poetry with the exception of my son who dabbles in cowboy poetry! LOL..

I only write what I am feeling or going through as it is kind of a therapy.. you know.. get it out so I don't blow up! LOL......Otherwise I cannot function well!

Thanks JNA

Where are you?

Where are you? I look in every corner of each room...
Where are you? I've lost your love.. I need you soon.
Where  are the smiles that lit each day... ?
Where is the heart I gave away?

Where are you...?  Is my search is in vain.
Where are you...? There's so much pain.
Where is the joy in this winter rain?

Where are you...? I have looked all  my life.
Where are You...? You are my light.
Where are you, my heart cries each night...?
Where are you the love of my life?

Dreams

Sleepy eyes, sleepy head, silly thoughts of boredom and dread!

Funny dreams, big machines, riding bicycles, cold ice cream!

People rising who are dead, weirdest thoughts from in my head!

Suns setting, moons high, soon stars will fill the open sky!

Starting over in the morn, birds a singing, thoughts are torn.

Puzzle pieces yet remain, in this, I call my Little brain!

Begin again this way, what thoughts will shape my world today!

Twinkling Stars

Smiling faces, Jumping beans, sandbox castles and Royal dreams!

Shovels and cars and racing machines, heads filled with wonder and magnificent dreams!

Lions and tigers and bears galore and stories a racing of old folk lore.

Pumpkins and spiders, and witches in the sky, the sweetest of candies, and a patch on the eye!

A tree all sparkling with tinsel strung 'bout, a jolly old fellow who's quite round and stout!

Cotton candy on a stick, smelling so sweet and good, creating sweet memories in ones childhood!

Imaginary friends and the a doll that cries, crocodile tears running down from their eyes...

Snakes and Snails and oh such tales, of pirates and treasures, and big trains on rails!

Racing and running, and climbing trees, Acting like monkeys or bumble bees!

Playing with Shadows and the learning of the arts.. oh such fun in a small child's heart!

Twinkling Stars in the world each night, lets not forget that these too shine bright!

The old man and his dog

The bull terrier stands aloof and proud
Head and shoulders above the canine crowd
Trained in bygone days to be a fearless foe
Now puts forward his skill in competition show.

Times have passed since
 Romans ruled the day
Now roman noses have their say
Tooth fang and claw would mix it
Now spring of rib and depth of brisket
Strength of muzzle and wicked eyes
No blood spilt and no one dies

Always giving the knowing look
Will read you like an open book
Loves each challenge when facing a test
With deft cunning skill gives his best
A breed with an indelible name
The English bull terrier and hard earn’t fame

From royalty down to any
Tom—Dick or Bill
Tales and stories continue to fill
No better site will grace our land
Than the old man parading bully
Past the judges stand

Andrew those are beautiful words about the Dogs.

Was you father a huge Lover of the breed or dogs in general.....?

Is that where you get your love of dogs from and of course your own experience too?

Beautifully written.

Hope dads looking over my shoulders and reading your kind words Karen.

My Grandfather and Grandmother now passed were the influence on me with the Bully. Dad loved them but never owned a dog as long as I knew him at least, elthough he had a Bully when he met mum and mum also had a bully as Grandad had them in the 1930's onwards.

Well Andrew reading your fathers writting I see a love for the written word and more then that he wrote with a "ease of spirit.." well that may not be exactly how I want to decribe what I sense in his writings ..more like a oneness with nature, a sense of companionship with his world around him. In the spirit of his writings I feel like he had a kinship, or spiritual partnership with nature and living things etc...
He writes naturally as if with ease....
Was he a natural when it came to writing or was it a struggle?

I wrote this a long while ago for someone I was very much in love with, he died recently, and it seems even more fitting now than it did at the time.

Connection

I know you are with me.
On my journey, you are my companion.
In my life, you are my soulmate.
In my mind, you are my challenge.
And in my heart, you are my ache.
But you are always with me.

I once thought that the sunrise I saw,
Was less beautiful,
Because you were not there to see it.
Now I realise that because you are with me,
It makes it more beautiful,
Than it could ever have been without you.

And as I wander down my path,
You show me twists and turns I never thought possible.
My life is no longer one long steep hill.
Ive found my other half,
The half that makes me complete,
The half whose very existence I doubted,
And I know that half is you.

You are always with me,
And I am always with you.

Dad had an amazing way with words, often very coy and with humour very dry.
he had little problem writing, stopping him from writing was more our main task as he often drove us bonkers with his witterings.

Loved him to bits and miss him dearly.

I got the impression he was quite comfortable with the pen..... lol.... he sounds like he was a very wonderful person and in his enthusiasm fo his writing and how he felt ablout life in general... he has yes maybe at those times driven you bonkers but left you such a wonderful legacy in those penned words that with your memories you will always find it easier to carry his words in your heart also and some easier to carry that onand pass it to your own children ensuring those pieces of your father will live forever and that is an eternal part of him.
I know your loss and understand it.... what a gift you were given in your father and his legacy!

Thankyou. I do miss him terribly. I would never have thought to share anything like that before, but now since he has gone I try and share more of 'myself' with people.

lovely reading.

Thankyou! It is odd because I cannot just sit down and right something, I have to be in the right mood or it has to be at the right moment for it to work, and when it does it pours out of me, othertimes I am dry, bizarre!

Mostly I just make daft comments on forums...  [;D]

I was hoping you would share some more poetry with us!

           I'll love you always

His soul resides here within my heart,
Entangled together we will never part!

Touches so warm from deep within,
The language we speak, much more then friends.

So many dreams are held so tight,
Mornings and evenings of love so right!

A cascade of emotions spill over each day,
Sweet loves devotion, brings joy our way.

Tender kisses held deep and savored so sweet,
The world was lain down at the soul of my feet..

I reached for the stars to bring you too me,
I gave you my love, and you said you loved me.

My heart is filled with glee for the love of this boy,
His heart alone fills my void full of joy!

Needing the love he holds in his hands,
holding on tightly, continuing to stand.

Oh Stars in the heavens that fill our night sky,
bring us together...before I must die...

Give me the strength to make time my friend,
and let me be with him without ever an end.......
