It is named after the planet Saturn, but it is actually microscopic.
Its name also includes the invention associated with Guglielmo Marconi.
Very Cryptic Clue: A regular customer at the zoological garden.

Robert,

To a geologist you just gave the whole thing away. These things have been around since the Cambrian.

" Title: Coloured SEM of radiolarian, Saturnis planetus

Credit:
MANFRED KAGE / SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY

CREDIT MUST BE GIVEN IN FULL

Caption:-
Radiolarian. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of the shell (skeleton) of Saturnulus planetus, a type of radiolarian protozoan. Radiolarians build these hard, mineral skeletons around themselves as they float in warm seas with other plankton. They extend their protoplasm as pseudopodia (false feet) through pores in the shell to feed on tiny organisms. The radiolarians can change their density in order to vary their depth. Large numbers of radiolarian skeletons litter the sea bed; these become fossilised to form minerals like flint. Magnification: x536 at 6x7cm size "

If you click on the above link you can see different types of radiolarian skeletons.
You're right Karen, they would not look out of place in an art gallery.

I didn't say what it was because I wanted others to have a chance to look this stuf up. The Pyramids are made mostly from radiolarian limestone.

GOOGLE RADIOLARIAN - They are beautiful little beasties!

HINT !

I am required by law to give all of you one more chance to guess this before your execution - a potential reprieve. SO ...

Shakespear alluded to this scientific couriosity. Think flowers.

(The original question was : WHat do all of these have in common)
