Neil you have no idea how close you were. in fact its a wax house on venus.

I took the shot while i was on holiday.I had a great time, just came back a bit burnt.

It's not a battery at all. In fact it has no electrical components whatsoever...it's a solid disc, with a concave dent in the middle of the top.
