Yes you are right. But remember the perth test match where South Africa chased the biggest total of 413
If dhoni had declared earlier and any of Kivi batsman would just struck in and following by Brendon Mccullum any target was not safe
If so happened Dhoni's captaincy would be criticised then... What to do ?
so Dhoni just made runs on the board and tried to put some pressure on Kiwi batsmen. [
