is it true that everyone gets bitten, just only some people's body reacts to the bite? also i heard a while ago that eating certain foods helps repel mosquito's...is this true? if so any one know what they are?

Recently, scientists at Rothamsted Research in the UK discovered that some people produce chemicals that smell bad to mosquitoes, masking the chemicals that usually attract the mosquitos.

I guess eating certain foods would act as a repellent in this sense.

Now this is interesting.  I very rarely ever eat bananananas and I never where perfumes, ect... yet mosquitos love me.
The other night my family and I was out and we were all getting bitten.  We all knew that they absolutely love me so my family sat somewhere else, leaving me by myself.  Geuss who stopped being bitten and who continued to be bitten? Me!
And, my Mum loves banananas and she rarely gets bitten.

weird hey?

note to C4M:  Yes, I'm still procrastinating (he knows what I'm talking about). :)

I think we are all liable to be bitten, but it would be true to say that some people do get bitten more often than others and some react to the bite worse than others. CO2 is what the little buggers home in on, so I suppose a heavy breather might attract more than a light breather. (Better stop those creepy phone calls!). Some say that eating Marmite has a repellent effect.

...or his blood type

Quote
One study found persons with Type O blood suffered more mosquito landings because of the odorant markers they emit than any other blood type, making their juices a hot commodity for blood banks, as well as Asian Tiger Mosquitoes, which carry West Nile Virus. Not only were Type O’s more likely to be landed on...
