Many thanks for the compliment! It's not easy keeping up with the founder of TFF! Quite intimidating actually. So I've been doing some crash reading []

As to new ideas, I think you did it right - above - by combining equestrian, testudinic [sp?], doggified, snakelike, whatever!

The mane thing - to use your great expression - is to have fun. And to be somewhat educational. So if no ideas are forthcoming, just hold off until the brainstorm hits. And if it's a long time, I'll just go back to O-sole-O-mio like I did before []

I've enjoyed re-reading the posts. And it's been an amazing educational experience for me. If the humor weren't there, I doubt I would have been motivated to learn more about turtles, for example! And hopefully there's a mini-education here for others who are brave enough to saunter by!

Not impossible - but rather improbable. What is called Chi-Energy seems to be just a ''state of mind''. Certain states of mind can in fact give us adrenaline rushes and various chemical imbalances within the brain. In fact, superhuman strength has been recorded many times in many history books - which actually depended on the state of mind.

The old saying, mind over matter is true, but in what sense is Chi-Energy used? I am not all familiar towards it, but it seems like a case of the state of mind. If it is not, then we are actually invoking some kind of energy within - and as far as i know, scientists are yet to prove such stimulus other than the brain network itself.

Now I don't believe in chi or anything, but I do believe their take on chi is a slight metaphysical interpretation of concrete nervous structures and relations within the human body. For example, they say they can feel your palm/hand and know where "distress" is in your body. Some organs can be in distress without conscious pain registering, though there may be other painless nerve signals being sent that manifest themselves in small almost imperceptible clenching of muscles in the hand.

Thousands of years ago Chinese monks were able to figure out that even in a normal person, by not having any sex, a male can have a slight increase in his intellectual function. When a monkish order has a few millennium to sit around and think about crap, you'd be surprised what revelations they can come up with =P

So if you went into a boxing ring, you wouldn't expect to get punched? Just because someone believes in something does not make that something sacrosanct. If you believe in that stuff and keep it to yourself, well, that's fine - you're allowed life choices, naive as they may be. But if you express it in a public arena, especially on a science forum, expect it to be treated with the derision it deserves.
