Oh while on the topic of flies something I have always wondered..... how long does the average house fly live to? And a bee and a wasp? hmmm i wonder please someone with great wisdom and knowledge in the insect department tell me!!!

I must admit I was thinking about the cruelty factor !...and then I swat one !...but in all seriousnous , it does make you wonder about poor flies.

Simon, as far as i know the average house fly just lives a few short weeks !, perhaps even less, as far as bees and wasps...I think wasps live longer as I BEElieve (HA HA HA ...pun intended !!..oh dear !)..anyway, wasps hibernate I think ! well, some do !!...bees just live a few months !...oh I don't know..

Actually, this brings me back to one of my favourite summer past times of sroking bees !!..yes indeed.... I have gone into in detail here once before, but, what you do is find a happy bee that is collecting pollen and if you hold a flower beside it, it'll jump on it as it's next port of call and you can then hold flower up and stroke bee !...YES..Really !!...they are so into collecting the pollen that they don't even know....The big fluffy cuddly furry bees are best !

Disclaimer: I can not be responsible for all the stinging and pain and swelling that will ensue.......seriously though, you should try it....I've been stroking bees for years !!.....oh dear !..I do hope this is not akin to that bloke who interfered with a dolphin ![]

This is totally off topic and I tend to do this a lot but hey! Did you know that if you grab nettles fast and hard enough you won't get stung!!!!!!!!!! I tried it! the first time I was in a lot of agony but the 2nd time it worked!
