Man padlocks the package and sends it to woman. (Man keeps key to his padlock.)

Woman receives package, ADDS a second padlock, and posts package back to man.  (Woman keeps key to HER padlock.)

Man gets package back, unlocks his (the first) padlock, and sends package back to woman.

Woman receives the package, which now only has HER (the second) padlock, which she unlocks, and takes out her ring.

Imagine setting out the following Roman Numeral equation using matchsticks:

X = 1 + X1

Question: What's the smallest number of matchsticks you have to move to make the equation correct?

Move the vertical bit from the + (making a minus sign) and put it infront of the X on the left hand side, thus:
-X = 1 - X1
or:
-10 = 1 - 11

As to the one neilep asked earlier, you turn on one of the switches for a really long time. Then turn another one of them on and walk in. If it is off but hot, it is the first one. If it is on, then...well you get it. If it is neither, it is the third switch. Ta-daa!
