Still i must install oxidizer to my aerosol rocket?
« on: 30/07/2009 07:45:33 »
Or, i ignite it directly without oxidizer?
Why most rockets still needed oxidizer?

No oxygen, no burn.

Either the fuel itself must be oxygen rich, or you need an oxidiser to supply the oxygen necessary.

Your rocket might still work, given the fact that the air contain oxygen.

But much of the thrust power will be lost because probably most of the fuel being burned outside the system, and not optimally used to propel the rocket

...I think...

A rocket engine needs an oxidiser - A jet engine uses the air.

I confused by the pump oxidizer... [:-\]

How can I make it?
How to drive the pump?
Please help me...

Or... Do you have another to get liquid fueled rocket without pumps?

I suggest you visit an amateur rocketing site.

Yes, i have.
I have visited an amateur rocket, but there isn't articles that contain about liquid fueled rocket

I would not use a liquid fueled rocket. Those are much more difficult to make than solid rockets, and potentially more dangerous depending on the materials that you use.

That's probably because they are so expensive and not suitable for amateurs. You can't expect to be Werner Von Braun over night!

Please, answer my question!!

How with the pumps?

How to drive it?

Does it need motor to drive the pumps?

Ok, ok,
this my finally question for this thread,

how much percent of alcohol does bottle rocket need to make it fly?
Which is influencing the fly of rocket? Percent? Or lot of alcohol?

Sorry for my bad english

Is this the sort of rocket you mean?
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1458421/make_a_soda_bottle_rocket/
It doesn't need alcohol.

You might get a pulse jet engine to work, but I don't think you can make one light enough to fly as a rocket.

Sure, i make a pulse jet rocket. But, i USE ALCOHOL AS FUEL. How many percentages do i need to make bottle rocket?
After this, i'll buy some alcohol, but i don't know how percentages. Please help me

A pulse jet is a jet, not a rocket! That's why it's called a JET!

Ok ok
up to you. What you called or what i called
But, please answer my question!
"how many percentages of alcohol do i need to make 1,5l bottle rocket?"

If you haven't an oxidiser then you can't make a rocket.
For a jet you need either a compressor or a way to launch it fast enough so that it acts as a pulse jet  (or a ramjet, even !!).
I am not just being picky - there is a distinct difference and with good reason.
Somehow you need to combine the fuel with Oxygen. I really suggest that, if you are serious about making a rocket, then you start with a solid fuel one.
Or is this just a thought experiment?

I don't need some compressor or pump, but i'll swirl the alcohol in the bottle in order to make it mix with oxygen in air.
"how many percentages of alcohohol do i need to make 1.5l bottle rocket?"
why don't you answer it!?

That can only produce a bottle full of explosive mixture. Mind your eyebrows!!!

I may be wrong in detail but, if my 'reacting amounts' sums are right, you will need about twice the mass of Oxygen for complete combustion of a given mass of Ethanol. That means you will need about ten times the mass of air (includes the Nitrogen).
So your concentration needs to be 10 air to 1 Ethanol by mass.
That should produce combustion of all the fuel BANG!! Which is not a jet engine or a rocket engine - it's a little bomb.

Thanks for your information SC!

Sorry, once again master
which can make explode or high pressure? A lot of alcohol? Or concentration?

Please, answer this, i'll close this thread if you've answered
