Toilet exploson. Why did the gascan not explode?
« on: 04/08/2009 18:57:50 »
Hello guys! Me and my friends did this experiment. We stuck a small perfumecan next to a rocket in hope of it exploding along with it. But it never did! Why not? - here is a video of the experiment:D

Maybe the canister with the perfume is built too strong for this? Was it damaged at all?

Maybe there was a safety mechanism to make sure it didn't blow up? Like some of those fire extinguishers.

Perfume isn't particularly explosive.  It may contain some alcohol, but only in relatively small amounts.  If the container was pressurised (and the pressurisation would have been by an inert gas, not an inflammable one) then it would have most probably been too strong to have been burst by the firework, which wouldn't have burnt for long enough to build sufficient pressure to burst the container.

Was there any water in the loo?  If so, this would have kept the container cool.

...And its claws are as big as cups, and for some reason it's got a tremendous fear of stamps! And Mrs Doyle was telling me it's got magnets on its tail, so if you're made out of metal it can attach itself to you! And instead of a mouth it's got four arses!
