Can eating dairy produce make you smell?

Natisha Singh  asked the Naked Scientists:

Hi there Chris.

I listen to your shows on talk 702 and i amazed at how much you know.  Always a good show. I have two questions for you, please answer them for me.

My first question is something that worries both me and my husband. We just can't make sense of it. Whenever my husband eats butter or cheese, his upper lip smells like vomit. When i am close to his face i can smell it and so can he.  Why does this happen?

What do you think?
