Need URGENT help for my Physics career.Plz Help me to choose ?

Hi Naked scientist forum,

I am going to study in UK. still I am searching for good university.

I am going to complete my bachelor's degree in 2010 Match. I want to do M.sci in Physics
 
What is difference between Mathematical physics and Theoretical Physics ?
what is mathematics and theoretical physics course?

I want to study theoretical physics (I am good at math !).
I want to study all the fields in Physics except medical physics,geo-physics (I love some facts in it).
If I take

-Nuclear Physics I miss Astrophysics.
-If I take one I miss other ....
-If I take quantum. I miss cosmology and others.
I love astronomy too ?
 
I am ready to spend my whole life for physics like a soldier in a battle sacrifices his life.
I gave up every enjoyment in life. I don't need it.
I am going to be celibate. My only friend in life is Physics math and all science stuff.
I am intellectual ever since I was Kid. I never had friends.
never had good teacher other than Nature her self and great persons from history.
Love Nature and her laws.

so, Which course I need to do in physics ?

I love string theory too.
Quantum mechanics(esp. cats in it)  all ! Even Optics ... Light,heat,electricity and magnetism,modern Physics all.
My girl friend physics attracts me in every dimension ! math helps me to measure her beauty.

I am living today to satisfy my curiosity.
My desire to know the unknown
I love chemistry too..

I don't care Human relationships ! I feel like this world is alien world. it feels like I don't belong here..!
I don't care even if I am lonely. I gave up everything.


My work speaks What I can do ! 
I believe in my abilities.
I will never give up even if I fail.

What do I need to take ?
Which course in physics ?
I am thinking of theoretical physics guessing it would cover everything in physics.

I don't need any thing in life other than Physics math and science stuff.

I want to study theoretical physics (I am good at math !).

Being good at math is good for any branch of physics, not just theoretical physics

There is some pretty cool stuff in medical physics. Perhaps you shouldn’t rule it out too fast. E.g. one of the ways they treat cancer nowadays is to use a beam of protons. So if you worked in medical physics you could work with a particle accelerator at a hospital and actually be doing nuclear physics.

I think everyone feels that way to some extent. It’s quite difficult, if not impossible, to be fluent in all branches of physics.

I recommend that you wait and see how things go. You’ll have to start by taking the basic courses in math and physics. I.e. Calculus 101, 102, 103, Basic Physics 101, 102, 103 etc. Then you’ll get into more specific courses such as quantum mechanics, classical mechanics, thermodynamics etc. At the Bachelor level you really wouldn’t be choosing things like whether to be a theoretical or mathematical physicist or not. That kind of thing requires advanced courses such as the ones you’ll get into in graduate school. You wouldn’t even touch on string theory as an undergraduate.  The choices you’re asking about will need to be done when you’re in graduate school. By that time you’ll be able to make the choices you’re asking about much more easily.

That’s not a good thing. You need to interact with people when you working. The better you can interact with people the better you can do your job.

Kiran, from what you have said working in Academia (a University physics department) would be ultimate goal. I would see a Masters degree as a stepping stone. If you impress the University you could probably continue indefinitely doing research in any number of fields. It therefore probably does not matter which field you do your Masters in, you could probably switch at some point. However, you have to impress people with your ability. If you are very, very good technically then it should be OK but if you are not excellent, and there will be plenty of competition, you may still progress by having other skills. Research positions at Univerities often come with teaching responsibilities of some sort so you may need to polish your relationship skills more than you think.

You are probably aware you are never going to get rich with this career path :-) Physics is interesting but rarely lucrative.
