Squid is a very popular food (here at least).. we eat it often. Some Australian 'bush tucker' would rank up there with the most unusual food I have eaten.

In Trinidad I had curried armadillo.  The dish is called tatoo.
I also had sea turtle while I was there.
Tatoo is good, sea turtle is not.
The best I had there was a chowder called Coquina made from Donax variabilis mollusks.

Bush Tucker is anything that you find in the bush (that won't kill you to eat) Native Aboriginals live on it exclusively prior to European settlement. "tucker" means food.
Apart form native bush berries and fruits, like wild bananas and melons and nuts from various trees, some of the more obscure foods include goanna (a type of lizard), snake and ants. Witchetty Grubs (the larvae of a moth) are deceptively tasty, are are honey ants. But being fairly coastal, there are also a variety of sea going creatures, not unlike the ones eaten around the world.

he Elk I ate had excellent flavor and was covered in a rasberry sauce.. It was the leanest meat I have ever eaten.. the tenderest also.. 0 fat that I could see. dense and tasty.. but the rasberry sauce did something that I did not like. but the idea was also bothering me ..Honestly the taste was ok.. not wild or anything..It was Very expensive.... LOL and a teeny tiny portion..two maybe two ounce pieces...

Neil rode an ostrich but I wonder if he ever tried the eggs?

Mr. Scientist was the egg good..?
Are you serious about the Squid being served in its own ink?

Hey Squid Calamari and Octopus arent they basically one nd the same? What about flavor..? I thought Calimari and Squid were the same, am I wrong in that assumption?

Calamari is the name for squid once it's been cooked with a Mediterranean flavour (calamari is Italian) But the name is, these days, interchangeable for cooked squid.

Octopus and squid are two different creatures, but both are Cephalopods (along with cuttlefish) Octopus, IMO, tastes different to squid, and is somewhat chewier.
