If the sun shoots out light which is converted to mass through E=MC2 then does the sun get smaller or do i have no idea what im talking about and please explain?

It doesn't necessarily get smaller but it will get lighter yes. I haven't done the calculation but I guess it is a very slow effect.

Here is a link to an astronomy web page that discusses this question. The numbers are all very big, as astronomical things tend to be. Since the web page is from Cornell, we can all imagine Carl Sagan saying, "BILLions and BILLions and BILLions and BILLions..."

<b>The Sun strives for electrical neutrality.</b> The nuclear process in the Sun is steadily shooting electrons into Space. When the Sun lost a wave of electrons (negative charge) its mass turns positive and naturally the Sun expels a wave of protons (a positive charge). Therefore, solar wind speeds through Space in waves of positive charged matter, or in waves of negative charged matter. The Earth continuously receives such matter and this is nicely demonstrated through Auroras.
