If we're able to get around these issues to continue shrinking the feature sizes we'll eventually run into quantum problems due to the small number of atoms that make up the features.
From the software side though, something of a revolution is still needed, so that the problems that seem to be essentially serial by nature may be tackled in parallel, otherwise MPP isn't going to bring any real benefits.
Unless the definition of the Forth Bridge was flawed, then it would work and be as durable as it had been designed to be. You might not have ended up with the same aesthetics though, which is really what makes the Forth Bridge a little bit special.
