Can we build a shield from gravitational force?

Hello all,
This is my first question in this forum and second in naked scientists. As I understand it, gravitational force is analogous to electro magnetic force in that both needs physical connexion between objects being acted on. We can shield things from EM by insulation shields, say thick concrete for example; however, is it possible to shield gravitational force as well, so that we can build a space-lab here in earth?
Thank you,
With kindest regards,
Felix
