I am a 3D Graphic Designer and animator (Including VFX), Game Developer...

for several years i have never had a download speed of 1mbps. the highest i have ever had is 80kbps @ a cafe and 32kbps on mobile. i am from nigeria.. and i am a download freak. i have tried so many boosters bt d speed never exceeded normal....


is there anything I can do? i mean anything cuz i am so tired.... may be downloading tutorials is a problem.... i tried buyin bt hell dey cant ship 2 nigeria...

its slow, that is it takes time to open a page... most especially a flash site..

bt datz nt my problem... d koko ther is dat i can not get much out of d bandwidth i paid to receive...

If you don't want to see the bandwidth-hogging  animations / videos , you could use FireFox browser with the NoScropt add-on. It blocks everthing unless you give permission for it to run, so bandwidth-hogging animated adverts (which I don't want  to see anyway) are blocked.

open "Local area connection(icon) properties button" > "general tab" > "configure button" > advanced  -
then look at "link speed / Duplex mode" value: Auto Mode , it should match the type of connection card or modem for speed and net system.

modem / card info should also be able to set a "baud rate speed in Mbps or Kbps"

It is not sure that the problem is about your location some times the websites have high traffic some times you got slow internet speed from your internet service provider so you should have to visit on any online speed test site and check your internet speed if you got low internet speed then contact to your internet service provider for true internet speed.

First of all, your location is the problem... You can't do anything about it. You need a better internet provider.But if you want to boost your internet connection a little bit you need to ''Port Forward'' some apps from your computer directly at the port you wish. This will boost it up JUST A LITTLE BIT.

Elaboration:
Your computer sends data to every page and when those data are sent, data from the page come back in order to display the page. Now those data begin to search for an open port in your computer to come it. and they start from port 99.999. They check EVERY single port EVERY time until they reach(for example) port 2033 which is open and allows the data to come in. Now with port forwarding you tell your router to send the data from specific programs(in this case firefox or chrome) DIRECTLY to one single port. So now, insted of searching every single port to find an open one, data from FIREFOX OR CHROME ONLY come directly to port 2033. Without searching. This will boost things up a little bit. But watch out not to assign a closed port because once the data see that the port is closed, they wont start searching.
