Anyone recommend general interest human science books to read?

I've just read 'Classic Case Studies in Psychology' by Dr Geoff Rolls published by Hodder ARNOLD[/b] ISBN: 0 340 88692 7 .  Really good accessible read about unbelievable but true life stories.  Can anyone recommend any other 'easy access' science books for the general reader?

THIS is an excellent read...not heavy reading at all and just about covers everything....hence the title...and it's written in an entertaining way.....buy it !!

I suggest Bill Bryson's "a short history of nearly everything" :-

Although I enjoyed the Bryson book, I highly recommend John Gribbin's book "Science A History". It also covers a history of everything but is not quite so brief.  It still manages to be an easy read though.
