As a disabled person I'm really excited by any technology that help us (those of us who are disabled) stay in shape. I can tell you that it can be very tough, especially for children (I became an amputee when I was 3)

When I work out (I like to ride bikes) my body lets me know I'm working too hard or if I've hurt myself (like pulling a mussel) through pain. A paraplegic's mussels, when stimulated by this technology, still produce the lactic acid that gives A.B.'s "the burn" but they can't feel it. Nor can they feel damage like a pulled mussel. How does this machine prevent injury like this, or prevent further injury incase of a pulled mussel or broken bone?

This is a bit different from what I was referring to. It looks like this guy broke his leg by some kind of test. I was wondering about it's use in expertize. The idea was to use FES to stimulate the mussels so a para could ride a tri-cycle or row a boat (as in skulking).

It's a great idea. I've worked with disabled sports USA. They help disabled people learn to do sports. I've even played on an amputee soccer team. Irony here is that the only guy on our team allowed to touch the ball with his hands didn't have any! (leg amps play the field (pitch) and arm amps play goal keeper. It's quite a lot of fun and becoming very popular, especially in Europe.
