i have heard of dark matter like neutrinos but what is dark energy

Firstly, dark matter might be (partially) made up of a form of neutrinos - but we just don't know.  There are still many competing theories out there.  We are pretty damn certain it is there, and it isn't an artefact of the observation or calculation (see bullet cluster prediction)

Secondly, dark energy was named to parallel dark matter.  We 'know' there is some unknown matter out there that is acting through gravity to change galactic movements - as we cannot see it (ie it gives off no light) and it is mysterious it was called "dark matter".  From other observations there comes the theory that the universe is expanding and is expanding at an increasing rate - something is driving this expansion, a hidden 'energy'.  Thus physicists named the totally unknown phenomenon "dark energy".  There are many theories explaining the accelerating expansion of the universe - the wikipedia page on dark energy is as good a place to start as any http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_energy

No one knows the answer to this and it seems very unlikely that such a thing would be possible because this universe is most certainly causal at our level of interaction with it.  That is complex organisms which will tolerate only a small deviation from their normal living conditions.  However there are suggestions that interesting things could be done with single particles.

Dark energy seems to operate effectively only at the largest scales of the universe. It helps to govern the overall geometry of the universe (which is controlled by the overall density of matter and energy in the universe) and to govern the rate at which galaxy clusters get farther apart from each other.

Dark energy works in a manner that is somewhat similar to pushing galaxy clusters apart from each other. It does this by changing the way that gravity works at large distances. Its effect, however, is swamped within galaxy clusters by the mass density of these galaxy clusters. So dark energy pushes galaxy clusters away from each other, but it doesn't do work (much if at all) within galaxy clusters.

The only way to harness dark energy would be to do something like tether two galaxy clusters together and use the tension to do work. This is unlikely to ever be done, given the investment and the time required!

To answer the question.  No one knows what dark energy is.  Dark energy is a concept dreamt up to explain shortcomings of the preferred model of the universe.  It may, or may not exist.  There are other models that do no require it.

I believe that dark energy is a 3D electric universal magnetic phenomena. There is no point in looking for large neutrinos the size of gravitons; they just don't exist.
Rather look at steel bar and then magnetize it.  Suddenly it has a force energy field without any increase in weight??  This is dark energy indeed.

If the understanding of dark energy is correct, our universe will eventually evaporate into heat. No matter will remain.
