Dearest Experts in Clapology,


As a sheepy I of course know every thing there is to know about clapping !..my word !..applause follows me where ever I go and there are days when i truly curse the bloke who invented clapping in 1877. However, as a sheepy I often clap too !...yep...for instance...last week wifey boiled the kettle and for the first time she actually did not immerse the kettle in a pan of boiling water but she actually plugged it in and turned it on !...the fact that she omitted to fill it with water is a side issue !...still...this was considered a success and I gave ger a clap !..just one mind !...

look, here I am actioning the actual clap !

But, how can I actually clap my hands ?....As ewe can see the hands commenced their journey towards one another 300mm apart...half way along they were at 150mm apart.....and then again at 75mm....37.5....18.75...9.3754.6875....2.34375...1.1718...0.58.....etc etc etc ad infinitum yes?......so...having to continuously go halve the distance how do they eventually actually ever clap ?...it should be impossible!!

Try it now...go on !!...clap...see if ewe can do it !...ewe can can't ewe...?...but it should be impossible for there simply must be an infinite series of halving distances to get through first !!...

Can ewe explain it because I can't and I asked Neda our Bulgarian cleaner and all she did was shrug her shoulders and clean an ornament....so...no luck there...,but I was almost convinced  !

How will this decrease the distance needed to travel towards each other ?...If I decelerate my hands then they will never meet !  []

And if you keep halving the distance left to travel they will never meet anyway - no matter the speed! []

I reckon the only plausible explanation has something to do with 'Symmetry breaking' []
