Runaway goldfish recaptured
From:  From correspondents in The Daily Telegraph Wellington
May 03, 2006

A GOLDFISH swept from a backyard pond by floodwaters has been found alive and well in a dirty roadside ditch about 2km away.

Farmer Ab Oskam, 66, was walking his dog when he recognised the fish as one of three belonging to his neighbours Craig and Julie Struthers.
They had been swept from their pond by a flash flood in the South Island town of Mosgiel five days earlier.

"It was like a miracle that such a delicate wee thing could survive," Julie said yesterday.

The fish, now named Nemo - from the fishy film Finding Nemo - is back in his pond - but there was no sign of his two companions.

Hadrian, I love the article.  I feel the same way with my car and have named it Nemo!  Everytime I am in the middle of a parking lot looking for my car and finally find it I think I have found Nemo!

My mom one time was lagging behind me from eating at a restaurant and I just went ahead and got in the car and waited for her...I looked up as she was opening the door of another car right beside me...I was puzzled as she sat down and didn't realize I wasn't in the car with her...I honked and she looked up and was a bit embarrassed, but I sure had a good laugh!  I found another one!!  The goldfish is over here, I tell you, she lives with me..LOL

Depends on the variables....lol  You sure that she is not the missing goldfish!  First, see if there is an award, if not, ask if someone can pay them to take goldfish!  hehe

Was it one of those rare pigeon like homing fish ?..it was probably making it's way back when the bloke found it !!.

..actually, when you think about it...it's very fortunate that the chappy recognized it !..surely, there must be hundreds of delinquent goldfish that go out on the town and end up razzled in the gutter.[:D]

nice article Hadrian [:)]

Cut the red herrings Neil. You don’t cod me whit that homing stuff. The owner thought it was a boomerang fish before he tosted it but tuned out to be an orbit fish that is why it took so long to get back.
