Active Inventors
« on: 22/02/2013 11:15:40 »
Hi, I'm a documentary filmmaker based in London.

I'm looking to make a short documentary on a prolific UK inventor. Ideally someone who is a little eccentric or has invented something that really stands out - either in its importance or obscurity. Maybe they've submitted a number of patents.

I really want to get into the mind of an inventor and get people interested in watching a short documentary on the subject, and maybe even get them into inventing things themselves.

The idea came about from watching these great series of shorts on inventors in the US. newbielink:https://vimeo.com/davidfriedman [nonactive]

I feel someone who's a bit of a personality would really help. Someone like Arthur Paul Pedrick would have been perfect I feel.

I'm finding it hard to find information on individuals, ideally around the London area, but not essential. It'd be great if anyone is an inventor on these boards who might potentially be interested, and would like some further info, or knows of someone who could be suited.

I should say that this is a personal project, so unfortunately there would be no money involved. It would be for use online (youtube, vimeo) and off course the inventor could use it as and where they see fit.

Thanks so much,
Dave.

He's the type of person, definitely! He was the only one I actually did come across.
Kane Kramer seems to have an interesting story, but I can't get hold of him.

I don't know if anyone knows of anyone else?

Thanks,
Dave.

Well I must say you have really thought of something good and creative. You this idea (of making a documentary film on those inventors who have got many number of patents) can be patented if carried out properly and perfectly.  ;D

A bit late, but the late Wing Commander Ken Wallis deserves such recognition. Norfolk too far from London? (not far enough, according to the locals!)
