This came from my 5 year old son. I know there are bigger beasts in the ocean, but would they bother with a whale shark?

I don't think the adult Whaleshark has any predators, though they may suffer the occasional bite from a particularly hungry Orca or perhaps some of the larger predatory sharks. But I seriously doubt this would be, by any stretch of the imagination, common.
The young Whaleshark, however, is predated by Orca, Blue Sharks and Blue Marlin.
