The leader stroke generally begins from the ground.

An electric charge is nothing more than an build up of electrons. Electrons have a negative magnetic charge and they will be drown to the positive magnetic charge of a proton, but they will also move from an area of high electron density to low electron density, even if the low electron density area has more electrons than protons. This difference is known as voltage.
Most electric charges in nature are from friction where one object rubs off and holds onto another objects electrons; i.e. rubbing your feet on a carpet to give a static shock to someone or wind pushing on the water particles in a cloud.

i think the electric discharge . form both cloud and ground after the leaders are connect together...it will goes from up to down or down to up. that because it depends which one has more chargers or strong chargers.......ist correct..

for both types of discharges for earth ground surface and clouds ....that when the surface earth it is dry it becomes positive charge and when the surface becoms floating with water it becomes negative charge....ist correct..
