Infuriating..self explanatory
« on: 04/08/2006 04:10:40 »
Im just totally speechless at  this  act  of  complete barbarism , ignorance  and inhumanity,,,,,,these are  the  same Morons  who claim to  want Nuclear  Technology  for  so-called  peacefull  purposes

An 8 year old child caught stealing bread  in a market of Iran is punished in a public place, in  the name of Islam! His arm will be crushed and will lose its use  permanently.  A religion of peace and love, they  say? How can anyone believe them when they commit such  inhuman acts?

It is horrific (although the mental trauma of long term imprisonment, even is less visibly horrific, can also be dehumanising).

Looking at the picture above, it does not look like there are any representatives of authority there – it looks like an act of lawless vigilantism.  Vigilantism is always horrific, whether practised in the slave states of the USA in past years, or in any other part of the world where the authority of central government is week, and people choose to take the law into their own hands (sorry, no pun intended).

I know it's foreign – the car number plates are foreign – can't make out the script, but it doesn't look Arabic to me (although there may be two different scripts, and the writing on the lower part of the number plate, although even less legible, might be Arabic, but it is so illegible that I doubt anyone could say anything about it for sure).  The faces of the people look like they might be possibly from the Indian sub-continent – so maybe we are looking at the tribal communities of Pakistan, or Afghanistan, or some remote regions in India.

All I was trying to say was that human nature is just as bad everywhere in the world, and it does not look like the above is particularly sanctioned by any religious of secular body, but is merely some guys taking it upon themselves to meet out 'justice' in their own fashion.  It is not unknown in Western societies, although it is clearly rarer in Western societies, because the rule of law is stronger.

I have not heard of this happening in Turkey, and I would doubt that it would happen (or, at least no more happen than in many parts of Europe) in Western Turkey; but I cannot say what might happen in Eastern Turkey, some parts of which seem to be in permanent revolt against the central authority, and the central authority responds with an iron boot.

In this case, it is plainly evident that neither the people, nor the registration plates on the vehicles, are Turkish.

This is totally digusting. Even if a child killed someone this should not be done to them. It's an 8 year old child! ! !.

I am 24 years old. I am law obiding citizen. I am not a criminal or a ned/chav or a gang banger or a mafia crime boss. My parents raised me well. This said when I was 6 I stole some fire lighters are bonfire because I was curious on how the stayed alight. A small childs interest in science if a little misplaced. I never got caught but if I had in iran this would have happened to me. Shocking shocking shocking. Is all I can say.

I think a fair percentage of kids go through a phase of steeling – I did it myself.  Sometimes the only way to find out something is wrong it to test the boundaries – but I agree there is little point in learning right from wrong if at the end of it you are left with only one arm.

That kind of thing makes a kid get a list. Then later in life when he is handed his AK-47 by the Iranian military with his new robotic arm he will carry out killing the people on that list who took his arm. The vengeful side of me hopes he does. The altruistic side hopes he can put it past him. Somehow.

I know this pictures are not Turkey, i was just wondering about Turkey nowadays...my cousin was born there since my uncle was stationed there for years and had came back with many stories and one was of a boy who was also caught stealing and had his fingers removed.....

I do wonder if these pictures are really what they seem,
there are a couple of things that make me feel doubtful.
First, the child was not held in any wany.
Secondly, why was the blanket put under his arm - to protect it?
Beacuase of this I do have a question mark as to whether these
pictures are genuine.

Love you lots

Unfortunately, that is not what will happen.

What is as likely to happen is that he has his arm taken off for steeling, then when he gets older, someone offends him in some way, and he will punish that person with the same vigour as he himself was punished as a child.
