This is a nice article about patternicity, which points out that "The problem is that we are very poor at estimating such probabilities, so the cost of believing that the rustle in the grass is a dangerous predator when it is just the wind is relatively low compared with the opposite. Thus, there would have been a beneficial selection for believing that most patterns are real."

I am without a doubt under remote neural monitoring, however, I am a bit confused as to how a regular person who is not in anyway connected to the government able to obtain and use this technology to monitor me. Unlike others who think they are hearing voices, I know who is monitoring me and their motive for doing so. However, I am at a loss as to what device and software they are using to tap into the satellite and lock into me. They not only read the thoughts I let them read, but they are also able to detect sensations. I have and continue to test the limits-- if any, the range, and have found out about "Image Manipulation" but do not know how it works and what software is used. I think "Photo Shop" is something they can use because it is recorded onto video. I had initially thought they were using "VISION RECONSTRUCTION" ( See it on Youtube), but now that I have come across this method I am inclined to believe that this is the technology being used to monitor me. I need help from the community here Naked Scientist. I need to know the following: A) What portable wireless device they are using. B) I need to know what software they are using with it. C) I need to know how they tap onto the satellite. D) I need to know how to block the signals. D) If I can block it with a "SPY CAMERA JAMMER/SCRAMBLER. E) I need to know of an American Based Retailer from whom I can purchase it from because my "PREPAID DEBIT CARD"does not permit the purchasing from Int'l companies based out of the country.I AM IN URGENT NEED OF THIS INFORMATION AND WOULD REALLY BE GRATEFUL  TO ALL WHO HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO READ THIS AND PROVIDE THE INFO. I CAN ALSO BE CONTACTED VIA EMAIL AT: I really look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.....

Hi! Rubystreet, unlike some of the others that think you are having psych issues and don't believe there is technology out there that can tap into your thoughts, I want you to go to Youtube and type in the words "Vision Reconstruction" and you will see a new software developed by a Dr. Galant out of Berkley University. There is amazing technology out there such as the Remote Neural Monitoring that are out there and not readily known to the public because most are not looking for it. I would also suggest that while on Youtube you also type in the words "Remote Neural Monitoring" for some great info on the subject. I also suggest that the non-believers of this technology also check into this information. I have no doubt that after seeing those videos you will be believers and not so easily dismiss and label people as "Schizophrenic."

If he is mysteriously wearing something like this, then he should remove it. Otherwise I think his fears are unfounded.

This is a very common problem.  Before I retired I met a lot of people who reported problems of this nature.  I worked on the boundary between the Mental Health Services and the Courts.  Many of these people had the misfortune to find their way into the legal system, either because they took action against their prying neighbours, or because they took action themselves and their neighbours sought redress.

Rubystreet, for each of us, our perception is our reality.  No one has the right to say to you "you are wrong, and I am right".  Your reality is yours by right, no matter how many people disagree with you. It is not a matter for democratic vote.  What I would suggest to you is that you seek psychiatric assessment/help.  If that doesn't make any difference, you can at least say to those who suggest you should take that line of action: "Been there, done that, got the label, now think of something positive."

The talk here of schizophrenia is not a negative labelling of anyone - many people have this problem, but it's extremely hard for them to accept that they do. A few of them manage to make the leap of understanding, and then it ceases to be such an illness for them and becomes more of a curiosity instead. It's even becoming fashionable to have such a condition, so it is not something anyone needs to be in denial over. Explore the possibility embrace the diagnosis if it's presented to you by a doctor.

Now, I know there's little point in trying to reason with someone who suffers from schizophrenia and who is in denial about it, so there's no great point in trying, but anyone who is trying to read your mind with weird gadgets in a house next door would need to be quite some fruitcake. We can all read your mind from here much more easily just by reading your posts, because you're already telling us exactly what's going on in your head. To try to find out more with any kind of new technology would be a waste of money.

[Edit to correct typo.]

When you read about psychology, there have been some attempts to scan the brain using fMRI, PET scanning, and arrays of EEG electrodes.  All of the methods either require direct contact to the scalp, or very close proximity of large equipment.  For the most part the scanning methods are incapable of probing memories, but perhaps can give gross generalizations about emotions or current tasks.

This technology exists. N it's an end game. Can't prove it, can't stop it. I need help too but no one will. One way to stop it is to stop giving a damn n keep ur thoughts clean. Feel good raise ur energy vibration. Exercise. Try to feel cool about it. Like so what? They can act creepy all they want.

Salutations,
I have been undergoing this type of abuse for over a decade. Recently i have begun a website to document the human rights abuse going on. It will also server to people to get together and discuss what is going on with them. Remote neural monitoring is a reality. check out my blog cchaaii.simplesite.com

If you want to hear what unmedicated paranoid-schizophrenia sounds like,
have a listen to someone reading the work of Francis E. Dec ...
[ NSFW ]

If your views match Mr Dec's : thought-broadcasting / thought-insertion / persecution / constant-surveillance / poisoned-air / brain-implants / worldwide-conspiracy, etc, book an appointment with a psychiatrist ASAP.

Watch the video, and dont take any medicine from your doctors if you go to one. Use natural remedies and occupy yourself with things you like/liked before you started getting weird. And most of all, everyone is innocent until the opposite is revealed. think like that. And remember, thoughts dont have power unless you give them. Stay strong, and be aware. And most of all, talk to people you confide in if you are paranoid or something. Do not seek ''profesional'' help. Most of the people in the psych ward and medical institutes are just going to pop medicine in you, and medicine is not good. it will **** with you natural state!! Stay strong!!

Generally "natural remedies" for any illness have not been proven to be safe & effective.

The "natural state" of schizophrenics is schizophrenia.

[ BTW anyone who think Jesse Ventura is an investigative-journalist definitely needs their head examined ].

This is totally irresponsible advice. Anti-psychotic medicines may sometimes have unpleasant side-effects, but usually one can be found that's acceptable, and the results of not taking anti-psychotics in severe schizophrenia can be tragic both for the sufferer and others.
