I explained that when you have a question like this the most efficient way of arriving at an answer is to do a search on Google which almost always brings up the Wikipedia entry on the subject. In this case I did a search using Google on warp bubble and was lead to this

In 1994, Alcubierre proposed a method for changing the geometry of space by creating a wave that would cause the fabric of space ahead of a spacecraft to contract and the space behind it to expand.
