I live in Fieldbrook nearest town Blue lake pothole in road no real shopping there gas station. Arcata is me seven miles away, Eureka next big stop oh and Mckinleyville where our airport is.. The biggest city closest to me would be Sanfrancisco 6and 1/2 hr drive. anout I am not sure distance about 300 or 400 miles away. Redding is a city above us but it is another 3and 1/2 hour drive also!

Yeah the bridge is in Redding. Blue lake definitely a pothole in the road but nice weather very nice little small community.. with a gas station and 1 hair cut shop and a Blue lake Casino owned by the Rancheria! has 3 or four churches and is not two miles long either direction LOL Has a nice river , lake is long gone in early 1900's, but a tight small close nit community with 1 school k thru 8th grade!

Oh Yeah I forgot a tiny tiny library open two days a week for a couple hours a day and a skating rink and ball park! City hall the police station and recycling center bins are all rolled up into one with the library..LOL Probably as big as my house not very big. Two policeman and one or two police dummies for the parked cars and two police dogs!! YAYYYYY! Hows that for small. I live 4 miles outside of blue lake closer to the ocean, bit still 8 or 10 miles from that! LOL

Fish hatchery, lumber yard a power plant Ultra power.. a carpenter shop.. Post office two trailer parks, a tiny tiny museum and Delarte a performing school of the arts World wide fame..LOL Blue lake Rancheria helps out a lot in the community providing scholarships for local grade schools and the colleges here Humboldt State University and Colledge of the Redwoods..They had a burger bar but it closed.. It was great Neil would have loved their burgers.. They had a small German resturant but it closed too.. lack of customers.. not enough people for it to thrive. Have to go to town to shop. I think they have a very tiny store open these days over by the hotel.. Oh They have three , Yes thats three Bars!!! LOL
