For most people, (if they want one) this sort of thing would be "used" once a year. There are other types that are "used" more regularly, perhaps even weekly.

To consolidate:
It is something that you might use once a year (on the same date every year, though this would perhaps be more for younger people), and you may need to blow across the top of it on this occasion. Can you think of an annual occasion where something like this might be the case? This thing has a top coating which is what you can see. It is organic, though has never lived.
